At Valk Solar Systems, we believe that sustainability goes beyond simply supplying high-quality mounting systems for solar panels. We take a critical look at our business processes, the value chain and the life cycle of our products. From the design and origin of raw materials, through production and transport, to use and opportunities for circularity and reuse.

Thanks to an ever-improving understanding of the underlying data, we can make choices that have a real impact. This is an ongoing process, in which we continually set new targets to drive further improvement. This can be achieved, for example, by choosing more sustainable materials, adopting smarter designs and collaborating with partners in our supply chain.

In this way, we are not only contributing to the energy transition, but also to a sustainable business model that is ready for the future!

Our approach

For us, sustainability is an integral part of our business operations. We focus on a number of key themes:

The choice of materials has a major impact on the environmental footprint of our products. That is why we primarily opt for metal, due to its long service life and reliable mechanical joints. At the same time, we actively monitor developments in sustainable materials, such as steel with demonstrable CO₂ reduction and high-quality corrosion protection.

By making smart choices during the design phase, we can already significantly improve a product’s sustainability. In doing so, we consider the entire life cycle, not just the usage phase. Smart engineering contributes to more efficient use of materials, lower energy consumption and reduced transport volumes.

Discover our production process

Metals are among the most recyclable materials available. To maximise circularity, our systems are designed for straightforward disassembly at the end of their service life. Together with our supply chain partners, we also explore opportunities to reuse components wherever possible, extending their lifespan before recycling becomes necessary.

Sustainability does not stop at our own sites. Together with our suppliers, we are working on further improvements throughout the supply chain. By taking a critical look at material sourcing, logistics processes and collaboration, we are contributing to a more sustainable value chain.
