Circularity and reuse

At Van der Valk Solar Systems, we look not only at the production and use of our systems, but also at sustainability at the end of their life cycle.

Circularity starts right from the design stage. Our mounting systems can be fully assembled and dismantled, making it easy to separate materials at the end of their service life.

By using high-quality materials such as steel and aluminium, raw materials are conserved and can be reused in new products.

One of the European objectives is to work towards a circular economy wherever possible. Recycling materials naturally fits well with this, but an even higher level can be achieved by reusing products.

 By giving components a second life:

• we extend the lifespan of products
• we reduce the demand for new raw materials
• we minimise waste streams in the supply chain

Together with several supply chain partners in the solar industry, we are exploring the possibilities for reusing solar panels, inverters and mounting systems.

As our mounting systems have a long service life and can be assembled in many different configurations, we see opportunities for reusing parts of our systems. We intend to take steps in this area in the near future, together with our partners. A first step has already been taken through our collaboration with GebruiktePanelen.
