The solar energy market is recovering

The solar energy market in the Netherlands appears to be recovering. While many companies are still struggling, there are also plenty of players who are busy again. The market is still there, and depending on the segment, business is even very good. Rather than selling solar installations, we now offer complete energy solutions.

As our founder, Hans van der Valk, always said:

'If it's easy, anyone can do it.'

This is the moment to show who you are

It is precisely in difficult times that the following matters: setting yourself apart, listening better, working smarter and, above all, staying true to yourself. No matter how big or small you are, it is this that makes the difference.

Sometimes it seems as if we at Van der Valk Systemen thrive on adversity. A predictable market would certainly be preferable, but let's be honest: it is precisely when the going gets tough that true innovation emerges. This is the strength of a family business — together with a fantastic team of colleagues and valued partners who always support us.

The challenge for 2026: rebuilding trust

Nevertheless, our sector still faces a major challenge in regaining the trust of end customers. The government's inconsistent approach is not helping in this regard, but I believe that we are perfectly capable of achieving this ourselves. Above all, what is needed is simplification.

Our world is full of technical terms and details, such as netting, EMS systems, feed-in tariffs, congestion and safety classes, as well as kWh versus kWp. Even within the sector, we don't always tell the same story. So how can consumers be expected to understand? Who will explain this to consumers in plain language, rather than from a technical perspective?

Outlook 2026: plenty of opportunity - the art is knowing where to focus

I am looking forward to 2026 with confidence. There are so many exciting opportunities that it's more a question of what we won't do than what we will. The trick is to make choices, stay focused, and stay true to yourself.

I can't wait.
